Plans for a micro-pub and coffee shop in Ellesmere Port have been approved by Cheshire West and Chester Council
The venue will be developed at the former Secret Garden florist, were granted permission following a successful application by The Coach House.
The approved plans outline the intention to sell coffee, cakes, pies, and other snacks during the day, and to offer alcoholic beverages from the afternoon into the evening. Additionally, the establishment will provide a takeaway service for hot drinks and function as a bottle shop, with background music and occasional live performances.
The micro-pub and coffee shop will create two full-time and two part-time jobs, with proposed opening hours of 9am to midnight, Monday through Sunday, including bank holidays.
Although concerns about potential noise impact were raised by a neighbour, the application was supported by a noise impact assessment that said it would not have a 'significant adverse impact'.
The planning officer's report stated: "Although the proposal would change use, it is considered that the new use as a coffee shop/micro pub/bottle shop would not harm the vitality or viability of the centre and an active shop frontage would continue.", reports Cheshire Live.
"It is also considered that the new use of the unit would be consistent with the scale and function of the retail centre."
